It’s time to take charge of your finances with Mint.com. For me software that helps me manage my money efficiently is worth its’ weight in gold; unfortunately I prefer lightweight applications. So to say the least when I tried the “best of bread” in personal finance software, Quicken, I was less than impressed. Shortly there after I came across Mint.com, I’ve been a proud user for about 6 months now and I have to say it’s one of the most useful tools I’ve found. (more…)

Google Apps for Government?!

Google announced yesterday that it’s now extending its thriving Google Apps business to the government sector according to TechCrunch.
Google says that this is the first multi-tenant cloud application suite that has received FISMA certification at a FISMA-Moderate level, which gives it the ability to store and serve sensitive (but not classified) information. (more…)

Protect Your Passwords with KeePass

In today’s world usernames and passwords are the bread and butter of technology and if your anything like me then you have WAY to many passwords to remember. Thankfully there are plenty of password management programs out there to help us keep track of them all. One such program called KeePass, specifically KeePass portable edition provides a convenient way to keep track of your passwords with the use of a flash drive. It allows you to take your passwords with you on your flash drive. Even better KeePass portable is light weight, simple to use and free; not to mention it makes life a breeze!

mRemote – Superior Remote Desktop

Being a System Administrator and technology enthusiast for some time, I’ve had to remote to several computers at once, typically windows machines, but occasionally a linux box or two. Suffice to say, I need an application that can at the very least support multiple remote desktop connections simultaneously. The problem is this isn’t enough, if it could store those connections, allow me to organize and sub-divide them, input user information for each specific connection, and also had the ability to support other protocols besides RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol), it would be perfect. Royale Theme for Windows XP
